14 Shortest Female Volleyball Players in 2024

Shortest Female Volleyball Players

Since volleyball is one of the tallest sports in the world, you have a lot to deal with if you aren’t tall, but actually quite short!

If you’re a shorter volleyball player, perhaps this little reminder will remind you that success is still possible…

In addition to these six professionals, two have retired from the game. Fourplay indoor volleyball professionally, three play beach volleyball professionally, and one plays college volleyball.

Taking a closer look at this!

Shortest Female Volleyball Players [Pro Indoor]

Our list of indoor players includes more setters than liberos, which is surprising!

Jorella (Ella) Marie de Jesus: 152cm (4’11.8″)

Shortest Female Volleyball Players

In 2023, the Creamline Cool Smashers won the PVL invitational conference with Ella, who is barely 5 feet tall, at 152 centimeters.

In my talk, I often mention that liberos rarely have height limitations, and Ella exemplifies this.

Only occasionally are players too tall to play libero well when it comes to libero height!

Taking up such a small space might make it tougher for most liberos to cover the court adequately at 4’11”.

It works for Ella, so it can work for you too!

The height requirements for liberos can be found in this article.

Jamenea Ferrer (Jem): 157cm (5’2″)

Jamenea Ferrer

Almost 10 years have passed since Jem began playing in the PVL.

Since she’s a setter, she’s considered particularly small, despite being taller than Ella.
